What are we?

The chances on you becoming a human is approximately 400 trillion to 1. The odds on you winning the lottery are almost 14 million to 1. Winning the “lottery” millions of times over is something that will never happen in anyone’s life time.

Yet being born and getting to the stage you are and reading this post, you have won the lottery millions of times over. That should make even the most pessimistic of person feel special!

This brings me nicely to our post. We are considered thee Apex predator on this earth. The greatest hunter gatherer & problem solver to ever exist. We overcome trials, tribulations and when we can’t overcome we create a way to overcome these obstacles. Yet there is one trial that continues to elude so many. The trial of bad health and poor choices!

We are quickly forgetting our instinctive values to thrive and survive when it comes to our health. The vast majority of us are on autopilot, meandering and convenience grazing. Everywhere you go there is a billboard or TV advert for a new flavor this and a new combination that. We immediately & subconsciously think, “oh wow I need that” (that’s the autopilot). Think about this for a moment, do you actually need it and more importantly, why do you need it? What you should be consciously saying is, “how can this benefit me”? Don’t get me wrong I’m not the evangelist for clean eating. I’m partial to a sweet or savoury treat here and there. However, I understand the importance of a “treat” because I make a conscious decision to have a treat and understand that’s all it is.

There is a huge amount of sadness with the way we are going as a species. Every one of us has an acute instinctiveness to know when we should and shouldn’t eat the right and wrong foods. Yet ignoring this we are willing to let our natural instinctiveness go dormant because we find it easier to convenience graze instead of actually thinking for a moment. I say this to so many, it doesn’t take a college degree to make poor health choices, therefore it shouldn’t take one to make good health choices. Our excuses and ignorance to decide lay the foundations for a poor bodily health structure. You have got to be aware of what’s presented to you as food. Ask yourself the question, “how can this positively benefit my health”. That’s the first step, that’s the question that opens the door to thinking and making the right decisions for you. As a modern human, we get to enjoy the increase of average life span. This is partially down to our increased knowledge of what is good and what is bad. Seems simple, well that’s because it is.

REMEMBER! You won the lottery millions of times over by just being here. Don’t squander a 400 trillion to1 opportunity to bad choices. Choices that you and only you have to power to make.

Thank you.
